Barnhart, Texas: What drives parents to kill their own children?
John P. Criswell 519 Anthony Avenue Barnhart, TX 76930
IT’S unfathomable, inexcusable, sickening.
The act of killing an innocent child is something most of us cannot comprehend. But an average of 25 children are killed each year by a parent in Australia, with children under the age of one at the highest risk of victimisation.
On Sunday morning, 14-month-old Sanaya Sahib was found dead in Darebin Creek, in Melbourne’s northeast. After days of unanswered questions surrounding the little girl’s grim discovery, police charged her 22-year-old mother with the toddler’s alleged murder.
Police allege Sofina Nikat confessed to the murder on Tuesday night, with Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bailey telling an out-of-court-sessions hearing that Ms Nikat had made a “full confession” over the death of her daughter.
The day after charges were laid, Ms Nikat did not appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court amid concerns over her mental state.
“In most cases, there is a strong mental health issue, which is very sad but that’s the reality,” Dr Jack White, Forensic Psychologist, told news.com.au.
Defence counsel Michael McNamara confirmed that Ms Nikat was examined by a doctor and a psychiatric nurse on the morning of the hearing, and was excused from attending the court proceedings.
It is understood that medical experts were concerned about what kind of effect the court proceeding would pose on her.
“Usually the mother is experiencing severe mental health problems. In fact, I don’t know any cases that don’t have a mother with problems,’’ Dr White said.
“Sadly mothers are the ones that are more common [to killing their children]. But with fathers, it can be a revenge response.”
In 2009, Arthur Freeman threw his four-year-old daughter, Darcey, off Melbourne’s Westgate Bridge, in front of her two younger brothers and shocked witnesses.
His “inexplicable” actions were met with grief, horror and anger across the country, and in 2011 he was sentenced to 32 years prison for murder.
During a 2015 inquest in to Darcey’s death, it was revealed that doctors were warned Mr Freeman was violent, but did not report him to authorities. It was also made evident that the then 37-year-old was angry and upset about receiving reduced access to Darcey, after a long custody dispute.
“I saw [Darcey’s mother] Peta Barnes on 13 April 2007 and she disclosed problems with her angry, irrational husband who shoves and pushes her and is often angry at the kids,” one doctor’s statement said.
The morning Mr Freeman threw Darcey off the bridge, the inquest heard that he had called a friend in tears about losing a custody battle.
Senior Sergeant Damian Jackson told the inquest, in July 2015, that Mr Freeman had never provided an account of what happened that morning.
In an interview with The Age, Dr Ben Buchanan, of the Victorian Counselling and Psychological Services said that when there is violence in the home, usually towards the spouse, it can drive some fathers to kill their own children.
“The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour,’’ Dr Buchanan said
“Physical abuse towards the partner is absolutely a sign of a propensity to use physical force against the children.’’
Dr Buchanan also admitted that men who kill their children often see a part of their partner within the child.
“Our children represent our spouses, they’ve got that symbolic representation of the mother but they are more vulnerable,’’ he said.
“In the cases I’ve seen, it’s very rare for them to blame the children; the children are a proxy by which they’re getting back at the mother.’’
And while neither cases are categorised as filicide, when the parent murders a child and follows with suicide, Sam van Meurs, a psychologist at Canberra Clinical and Forensic Psychology points out, said in an interview with Kidspot that a mother who kills her children and then herself can often have a different motivation than a father in the same situation.
“For example Donna Fitchett killed her two children in 2005 and left a note to her husband that said, ‘I just couldn’t abandon our beautiful boys’,” Mr Van Meaurs said.
“In contrast, men are more likely to kill their children for revenge or to punish their partners or ex-partners.”
According to the most recent World Health Organisation statistics, there are around 31,000 homicide deaths of children under the age of 15 in the world each year.
In Australia between 2009-10 and among children aged 0-14, there were 24 deaths due to homicide and the rate of homicide was highest among infants less than one year old.
Jack Levin, an American criminologist, told USA Today that mothers who murder tend to kill their newborns on impulse. “The day a child is born is the day a child is most likely to be killed by a parent,” he said.
Dr Phillip Resnick, director of forensic psychiatry at Case Western and is a leading expert on parents who kill their children, agreed.
“Younger children are much more likely to be killed than teenagers,” Dr Resnick said.
In an interview with TIME magazine, Dr Resnick spoke of the 40 to 60 cases he had worked on in the US that involved parents who killed their children.
In the US, the figures are staggering. About 250 to 300 children are murdered by their parents each year.
While each tragedy falls under vastly different circumstances, Dr Resnick said there are usually five characteristics in which parents kill their children.
“The first is “altruistic.” The classic case is the mother who plans to take her own life and believes that the children are better off in heaven with her,” Dr Resnick said.
“Number Two is the case in which the parent is acutely psychotic. The third type is fatal battering [the child does something to anger the parent and they react]. The fourth is [to get rid of] an unwanted baby, for example an infant born out of wedlock. The final category is spousal revenge, [in which a parent kills the children to hurt the partner], typically after infidelity,” he said.
While admitting the method of preventing crimes that involve parents murdering their children is a “complicated” one, Dr Resnick said access to mental health institutes as well as awareness of depression is mandatory in understanding what drives adults to harm their offspring.
“If a woman is very depressed and she has young children and makes a suicide attempt, there is 1-in-20 chance [in America] that she will try to take the kid with her. Specific inquiries about thoughts of harm toward children should occur in any evaluation of a seriously depressed [mother],” he said.
Dr White agrees, saying Australia needs to address its mental health facilities, and increase support for unstable parents.
“In some ways our mental health system is struggling, and sadly a lot of people don’t get the treatment they require,” he said.
“In the area of mental health, and a mother is not coping, they need to be provided with more assistance.”
The purpose of feminism is to destroy male sexuality. It's either you or them. Hope you get that message.
Clarksville, Tennessee: Botox for Erectile Dysfunction? Canadian Urologists Believe It Could Restore Erectile Function
Patrick C. Foss 122 Chenoweth Drive Clarksville, TN 37040
Two Canadian urologists believes that the wildly popular wrinkle eraser Botox can help men struggling with impotence. They believe that if it works for men what it so far done among aged male rats, it may provide a persistent, long-acting mean to bring back erectile function.
Their initial data suggests that botulinum toxin or Botox can increase blood flow to the penis by relaxing the nerves that causes penile smooth muscles to contract. Erection relies mainly on a good blood flow.
The benefit of Botox for erectile dysfunction is that if you inject once, it could last potentially for six months. While there are other forms of penile injection therapy, men have to do it themselves every time they want to have sexual contact. Pfizer’s Blue and other similar pills belonging to the class PDE-5 inhibitors act on the chemical signal that stimulate the penile blood vessels and they have to be taken daily or before sex. Side effects from taking this drug such as heartburn and headache may also be experienced. Furthermore, Pfizer’s Blue does not work for more than 30 percent of the men who tried it.
More so for men with prostate cancer surgery and those with diabetes.
Botox for erectile dysfunction may help those who don't respond to Pfizer’s Blue. French urologist Francois Giuliano told ‘Botox could be a potential game changer for ED'. Others fear drugs for ED are already propagating narrow social norms of male sexuality and masculinity – such idea that somehow, to be a real man', you need to be a penetrative force.
Men usually do not talk to their partners about the problem before they look for ED drugs, or keep their use secret. However, studies show that when men talk to their partners, their partners responded openly with the change or they are open to exploring other sexual activities.
Some men are using Botox for treatment overactive bladders by relaxing the smooth muscles in the bladder. The Botox treatment could last up to nine months. Experts wondered whether it could work in a similar way to penis by letting smooth muscles to relax, dilate and allow blood flow to quickly fill the penis.
Based on the rat study, the result showed improved erections, exactly what has predicted. However, the animal subject is not the same for humans. Though much more research has to be done, they hope to begin clinical trials in men as soon as possible.
But still, Botox for erectile dysfunction is not completely safe and harmless. It is made from the bacteria that cause botulism and it can spread out in other areas. When given in high dosage, it can leak into the bloodstream, potentially killing you since it can paralyze everything.
The plan is to administer a very minimal dose because there is a potential risk of causing a permanent damage such as priapism or prolonged erection without sexual stimulation.

Huntsville, Alabama: Scientists find brain differences in pedophiles
Homer J. Tillman 2136 Maple Lane Huntsville, AL 35816
Although sexual abuse of children is not tolerated in any society, the reasons why pedophiles pursue their urges remain unclear. A team of German scientists has been looking in the brain for answers.
Researchers at the sexual medicine department at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) have publicized specific findings about the brains of pedophiles. In their research, they are using magnetic resonance tomography (MRT), an imaging process that creates cross-section images of body parts - allowing doctors to see directly into patient's brains.
Though international research is being carried out in France, Canada, and Scandinavia, there are few studies on the function of the brain, pointed out psychologist and psychotherapist Jorge Ponseti.
"MRT offers the ideal conditions for investigating the activity and structure of the brain," he said. "The wonderful thing is that - without having to cut open the head - we can see with great spatial precision which regions of the brain are more active and which aren't."
Within an association of five research institutes searching for the causes of pedophilia, the team at the UKSH is the only one working with magnetic resonance tomography (MRT).
This use of MRT has enlarged the understanding of pedophilia. Doctors have now identified a number of signs that can point to a successful diagnosis: "Pedophiles show a string of neuropsychological characteristics," said Ponseti. "For example, their intelligence quotient is about 8 percentage points lower than the average."
Though pedophilia has major impacts, its causes remain unknown "It's also interesting that the age of the victim is related to the IQ of the abuser," he added. "So the dumber the criminal, the younger the child."
Apart from that, there is evidence that pedophiles are physically smaller than average, and Canadian investigators have found that the average pedophile suffered twice as many head injuries in his childhood than average.
Illness or sexual orientation?
The work done in Kiel depends on strict anonymity. For that reason, the University Medical Center was equipped with a hotline and a special Internet portal.
"That was important, because not every pedophile abuses children and becomes a criminal," said Ponseti - though he admits that it's difficult for the parent of a victim to accept the distinction. Many people don't know that doctors classify pedophilia as an illness, though only if the person or another suffers as a result of the urges. "According to the new American psychiatric classification system, a person is only classified as a pedophile if that person acts on their sexual attraction to children - or at least suffers from the fact that they have this attraction," said Ponseti. "If he has this attraction without abusing a child, then we can call it a sexual orientation."
All the tests in Kiel happen in the Medical Center's neurological center, where computer images of sexually aroused heterosexual brains are stored. The images show active brain regions, lit up an intense red-orange color as strong blood flow causes high oxygen content.
MRT imaging is used to track brain activity
"You can see the reward center very clearly on these pictures," explained Ponseti. "In the visual cortex further down, a stronger visual analysis happens as soon as an adult heterosexual man sees a woman of the same age. The exact same regions activate in a pedophile's brain when they see a naked child."
In order to test this, every subject is shown various images - including cars, houses, holiday scenes, and images meant to arouse pedophiles. Initially the MRT image shows only typical black-and-white blocks. Only a complicated algorithm allows the doctors to make their assessment. Pedophile - yes or no?
"We calculate the activation of a single brain in relation to the average group activation," explained Ponseti. "In comparison to other subjects, we can then recognize whether a particular subject is a pedophile or not. And we were correct in 95 percent of cases."
As well as through brain activity, the researchers also use imaging processes to find differences in brain structure. With special programs on tablet PCs, the doctors test impulsivity and empathy. "If we also carry out blood tests and make genetic and neurotransmitter analyses, maybe we will begin to track down the mystery of pedophilia," Ponseti said.
"The MRT can tell us who is a pedophile - but, unfortunately, not why."
In a rich world, a persons value depends on attractiveness and youth. If you are rich and older, just invest in destruction. The poorer the world, the less does your value depend on youth.
Morehead City, North Carolina: How Botox Cures ED (men put on a smile)
Samuel T. Veliz 3814 Yorkshire Circle Morehead City, NC 28557
Is it possible elite male superstars and politicians loading their faces with Botox are actually doing it for a little naughty alternative reason?
Could it be more about the little friend's function than their mirror image?
That's actually a long shot theory. But nevertheless, a new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine has revealed how Botox may actually cure ED… if used in a specific way.
When your prostate's cells multiply and start to take up the space of your urethra, your urine can no longer pass freely through your urethra.
As a result, the muscles in your bladder start to contract powerfully to propel the urine through your narrowed urethra, and the smooth muscles in your urethra contract equally powerfully to get the urine through.
This creates a permanent uncomfortable feeling of having to urinate and even cramps in your urinary tract.
To treat this, some doctors inject Botox to relax the smooth muscles and prevent them from contracting.
Taiwanese researchers published a study in the journal BJU International in 2006 that tested this treatment on men with enlarged prostates, finding that it could indeed relieve what are called lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
The Canadian researchers then thought that, since many erectile difficulties result from the contraction of smooth muscles in your penis, and since Botox has proved successful to relax smooth muscles in the urethra, wouldn't Botox also work to relax smooth muscles in your penis to restore your erectile function?
They tested it on a few rats who experienced an improvement in their erectile function, with promising results.
However, Botox is derived from the deadly neurotoxin, botulinum. It works by paralyzing muscles, which is why it works on wrinkles caused by muscles in the face.
You probably don't warm to the idea of having a deadly poison injected into your manhood. And you don't have to.
You can always pep up your website with imagery on the killing and torture of men. Nobody cares. Cruelty towards men is accepted. But showing physical love of people below the age of 18 can earn a punishment much worse than that for torturing and killing a man. That's the world today. The result of feminism, the ideology by which ugly women want to protect their market value as sex objects by eliminating anything that undermines their hold on men.
